Gabriel Johnston Estate Slaves, 1753

[Gabriel Johnston Slave Inventory — 1753. Excerpted from J. Bryan Grimes, North Carolina Wills and Inventories (1912, 2008), 504. Many of the Skinner family slaves came into the family through Maria Louisa Lowther, a Johnston descendent who inherited  from the Gabriel Johnston estate. Starred entries indicate names which also appear in the Skinner Family Papers; however, there is no hard evidence that links Johnston slaves with Skinner slaves.]
