Dr. John Gregory (1724-1773) was a Sottish physician, moralist, and medical writer, whose Father’s Legacy to His Daughters, written in 1761 on the death of his wife, became a bestseller when it was published in 1774 by his son. He was a friend and first cousin of Barbara Gregory Lowther.
